Shooting: Saurabh Chaudhary settles for silver in Asian Championship

Doha/UNI: Indian shooter Saurabh Chaudhary clinched silver in the men's 10m Air pistol event during the 14th Asian Championship here on Monday.

The World Cup and Asian games gold winner shot 244.5 settling for silver while yellow metal went to North Korea's Kim Song Guk going for world record 246.5. The bronze was fetched by Iran's Foroughi Javed 221.8

With 583, both Chaudhary and Abhishek Verma had qualified for the final in seventh and sixth place, respectively.

Verma stood at fifth spot in the finals among eight participants with a score of 181.5.

Both Chaudhary and Verma have qualified for the Olympic from earlier events.

The air pistol quotas from this competition went to Iran, North Korea and Pakistan as India and China had already secured the maximum two quotas each.
