Tokyo Olympics 2020: Indian Boxer Lovlina Borgohain wins hard-fought match to advance to quarters

Tokyo/UNI: Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain overcame a tough challenge from Germany’s Nadine Apetz to register a win in the women’s 69kg (welterweight) category in the round of 16 bouts here on Tuesday at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Borgohain a two-time world championship bronze medallist, won the bout by a 3:2 split decision at the Ryogoku Kokugikan arena.

Lovlina will next face Chinese Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen in the quarter-finals on Friday.
