Uzbekistan to host the maiden international tournament called “The Wrestling Games”

Tashkent, May 24 (IBNS): The 1st open international tournament “The Wrestling Games” will take place in Khiva city of Uzbekistan, from June 7-9, 2019.

The tournament is being organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, The State Committee for Tourism Development and Khokimiyat of Khorezm region.

The event is being organized in the memory of Pahlavon Mahmud, a poet, philosopher and legendary wrestler, who was born in Khiva and is also considered as the city's patron saint.

According to the government, sports events like wrestling tournaments, will undeniably serve as an asset for the country in earning international cooperation in sports tourism, promoting tourism potential and related opportunities in both national and international markets.
