Will India square T20I series against Australia in Melbourne today?

| @indiablooms | Nov 23, 2018, at 10:59 am

Melbourne, Nov 23 (IBNS): Despite scoring more than Australia in the first T20I, India had to suffer a loss by four runs due to the Duckworth-Lewis method at The Gabba in Brisbane two days ago.

Failing to begin their journey in Australia with a broad smile, India will definitely look to square the three-match series by defeating Aaron Finch and his men in the second sporting encounter, which will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground here on Friday.

Batting first in the rain-interrupted first match, Australia could score 158/4 in 17 overs.

In reply, India fell short of four runs despite scoring 169/7 playing the same number of overs that the Aussies had played.

Shikhar Dhawan played a blistering knock of 76 runs. After he departed, at one point it seemed veteran Dinesh Karthik and young Rishabh Pant will help the team to cross the rope.

But as the match became nail-biting, the Aussies picked both the wickets to leave the Indians to bite the dust.

The second T20I match will begin at 1.20 pm IST.
