Kolkata/IBNS: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday filed 21 FIRs and made two arrests from Nadia district in connection with the post-poll violence case in West Bengal.

News agency ANI reported that the cases were registered under IPC sections of murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act, trespassing, kidnapping and the first FIR in a rape case.

Last week, Calcutta High Court handed over the investigation into the alleged violence after the West Bengal assembly poll results were declared on May 2. The investigation will be monitored by the High Court.

The court has ordered the investigation of other cases into the alleged post-poll violence by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
