Man caught while trying to rob a bank in Manipur's Imphal

Imphal:  A man was caught while he tried to rob a bank in Manipur's Imphal on Monday.

The incident occurred around 10-30 am on Monday at the Bank of Baroda, FCI godown branch, Lamphel, Imphal.

According to the reports, the man came to the bank and demanded Rs 5 lakh from the bank manager.

When the bank manager refused, the man threatened the bank staff by using a pistol and he locked the main entrance of the bank and took Rs 5 lakh from the cashier.

But later the man, who was identified as Thongam Ringku (40) of Kwakeithel Soibam Leikai, was apprehended by the CRPF personnel.

A police team of Lamphel police station rushed to the spot and arrested the man and recovered one 9mm pistol, one knife, mobile phone and cash Rs 5 lakh in possession from him.
