Covid 19: All 30 districts in Odisha turn into green zone, active cases below 1000

Bhubaneswar/UNI: All the 30 districts in Odisha are now in the green zone while the active covid cases have reduced to less than 1000.

Health and Family Welfare department sources said only 71 new cases were reported from 19 districts in the past 24 hours with no fatalities.

The active cases have now come down to 946 with the recovery of 138 people in the past 24 hours.

Sources said barring Sundargarh district which reported eleven new positive cases, all other 18 districts have reported single-digit positive cases in the last 24 hours.

So far 77,74,477 tests were conducted in the state and 3,35,282, almost 4.31 per cent of them found to be infected with coronavirus.

Till date, 3,32,377 covid patients have been cured and discharged and 1906 covid patients have succumbed to the virus.

The state government claimed that the fatality rate of Odisha is the lowest in the country.

Meanwhile, the second phase of covid vaccination for frontline and healthcare workers in the state will commence from Feb 6.

Sources said already 1,92,437 frontline workers have already enrolled for vaccination.

The Institute of Life Science (ILS) Bhubaneswar has achieved a milestone of conducting 1,50,000 PCR tests for covid 19.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said with hard work of the covid warriors and efficient management, Odisha has reached a defining moment in the fight against Covid 19 with all the districts turning into green zone.
