Chandigarh/UNI: Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Manoj Yadava was administered the second shot of Covid-19 vaccine by a team of health officials at Police Headquarters on Monday.

The DGP was administered the first dose on February 4 when the vaccination drive for frontline workers of Haryana Police was launched.

DGP Prisons K Selvaraj, ADGP Admin and IT A S Chawla, IGP CMFS Rajinder Kumar, AIG Provisioning Surinder Pal Singh, Haryana Police Housing Corporation Chief Engineer Sanjay Mahajan and other officers and jawans have also been administered the second dose of vaccine.

Speaking on this occasion, the DGP said that vaccine is safe and there should not be any kind of hesitation or fear in receiving the shot. People must come forward for the vaccination without paying any attention to rumors, he added.

Mr Yadava also lauded the efforts of front-line workers for working tirelessly to curb the spread of the coronavirus. He added that even though the vaccination drive is going on, caution is still needed.

'We are making people aware of the risk of infection. People should wear masks while venturing out and must follow all the norms prescribed by authorities to curb the spread of COVID-19,' he added.

It is worthwhile to mention that Haryana Police has launched another two-week special campaign to educate the public about wearing face masks.
