New Delhi/UNI: The national capital recorded 494 fresh cases of novel coronavirus during the past 24 hours, while 14 people succumbed in the same period, the Health bulletin said on Saturday.

The fresh figures took the capital caseload to 6,26,448, while the death toll soared to 10,571.

According to the bulletin, 67,364 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the past one day. The recovery rate has now jumped to 97.45 per cent while the city's cumulative positivity rate stands at 7.11 per cent.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed through social media that the fresh cases are less 500 for the first time in seven months.

"First time less than 500 cases in 7 months (since 17 May). Positivity reduced to 0.73% from 15.26% on 7 Nov. Positivity less than 1% for last 11 days. Active cases reduced to 5342 from 44456 on 13 Nov. Though 3rd wave is going down, be careful and observe all precautions," Jain wrote on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, the Minister reviewed the dry run of the corona vaccination process.

He also said that the vaccine will be provided 'free of cost' in Delhi for which 1000 centers will be set up.

"1 lakh people from phase-1 will be vaccinated on a daily basis. Delhi Govt is completely ready for the rollout," Jain averred.

Currently, there are 2,752 COVID patients under home isolation across the city, who are mostly asymptomatic or the ones with very mild symptoms. The number of active cases, which includes patients under home isolation, are 5,342.

The Health Department claimed that 13,116 beds are still vacant while the containment zones in the city have now risen to 3,751.
