New Delhi: India's COVID-19 daily figures remained below the 30,000 mark for the first time in over four months.

India recorded 29,164 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total count to 88,74,291, as per Ministry of Health data released on Tuesday.

India remained the second most infected country in the world after the USA.

It is for the first time since July 5 that India's daily COVID-19 case count stood below the 30,000 mark.

The country's COVID-19 case graph then moved up steadily to even touch over 90,000-mark later.

The graph has shown a steady decline since late October.

Meanwhile, India also recorded 449 deaths in the past 24 hours.

So far, 8290370 people have been discharged.

India has 453401 active COVID-19 cases at present.
