Kolkata/IBNS: The principal of Kolkata's Beliaghata I.D. and B.G. hospital, Anima Haldar, reportedly fell sick hours after receiving the second dose of Covishield corona vaccine and she is undergoing treatment in the same hospital.

According to reports, the senior doctor-professor had received Covishield's second dose on Monday and started vomiting after reaching her residence at night.

Later on Tuesday morning, Anima Haldar was admitted to the CCU of Beliaghata ID hospital where she is currently under medical teams' observation in a stable condition.

A senior official in the state health department said that there was yet no confirmation whether Anima Haldar's sickness was just because of the vaccine or any other reason was responsible for it.

"The case has been logged as a suspected side effect of the Covid vaccine, and our medical experts are currently examining the matter to confirm the exact reason behind the principal's sickness," the medical officer said.

Sources in the hospital said that Anima Haldar was stable and recovering quickly, though she will be under observation for next few days.
