Pak Army chief says ready to normalise relation with India

| @indiablooms | Dec 21, 2017, at 05:42 pm

Islamabad/New Delhi, Dec 21 (IBNS): In a significant development, Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said he is ready to normalise relation with neighbour India and has also urged his country's policy makers to contemplate the same, according to media reports.

"The military is ready to back political leadership's initiative for normalization of relations with India," he told lawmakers at the senate committee.

According to him, the only way forward for his country is to have good relations with all its neighbours.

However, Bajwa has reminded the country's leaders that most of Indian deployments in the recent past have been against Pakistan.

Bajwa has also blamed India and Afghanistan of forming a nexus through its individual intelligence agencies and stirring up controversies in Pakistan.

The move is significant because so far India has blamed its neighbour's army of blocking peace talks.
