Jasprit Bumrah and Sam Konstas confront at SCG in Sydney, India captain charges at Aussie batter dismissing Usman Khawaja
Sydney/IBNS: In yet another drama during the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024, India captain Jasprit Bumrah and Australia's young batter Sam Konstas had a heated exchange during the fifth Test at SCG in Sydney on Friday.
Ahead of the final ball of the first day's play, Aussie batter Usman Khawaja delayed taking strike prompting Bumrah to express unhappiness.
Konstas, who was at the non-striker end, was seen asking Bumrah to wait and that infuriated the Indian skipper.
"What's the problem?" asked Bumrah as caught in the stump mic.
KL Rahul once said ‘You go after one of us, all 11 will come right back’

As the atmosphere flared up, the umpire immediately intervened and de-escalated the situation.
The real drama unfolded after the final delivery when Bumrah dismissed Khawaja, who edged the ball to the slip cordon where KL Rahul completed a clean catch.
Instead of jumping with joy, Bumrah, very unlikely of his nature, turned back and gave a cold stare at Konstas followed by other Indian players who charged down to the 19-year-old batter, who silently walked towards the pavilion at stumps.
Konstas, who scored a quick 60 in his maiden Test in Melbourne, thrashed Bumrah on a rare occasion in the first innings of fourth Test.
Bumrah, however, removed Konstas cheaply in the second innings in Melbourne and imitated the 19-year-old's style of celebration in an apparent dig.
Meanwhile, Australia finished at 9-1 after bundling out India for just 185 in the first innings.
