Golf: Rohit captures Tata Sub-Junior title
The local lad, who was leading by a solitary stroke overnight, finished three shots ahead of Hassan Rahman Khandokar after finishing with a tournament tally of 160.
Sunil Bhaskaran - VP (Corporate Services) Tata Steel gave away the prizes.
“It was a tough course, where I made a few mistakes on the first day. I knew I have to put in a good game today. I began on steady note and this helped me to play my best golf. After I made an eagle on hole # 16, I knew I could win from here. I decided to play the remaining holes safely and this made all the difference," said the champion.
Bibek Sardar finished third at 164 while Rohil Chokhany was tied for the fourth place at 175. Bishwan Ghosh finished sixth at 179.
Hassan apart from finishing second overall, bagged the honours in Category B with Bibek Sardar finishing as the runner-up. Rohil Chokhany was third while Manish Rajak was fourth with scores of 175 and 180 respectively.
Sandeep Kumar Yadav emerged as the winner in Category C with a tally of 165 while Rajib Ali was second at 181.
Abhikanks Basu and Pratham Choudhary ended up third and fourth respectively. Joysurio Dey was the winner in Category D with Kunal Bagrodia finishing second.
Marshneil Prasad took the honours in Girls B category while Sara Muthedath was the winner in Girls C Category.
Garv Lakhmani emerged victorious in Catgeory E which was played over 36 holes.
