Indian eves beat Pakistan by 8 wickets in CWG clash

Birmingham: Indian eves registered their first win in the ongoing Commonwealth Games as they defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by eight wickets here on Sunday.

Smriti Mandhana (63*) played a crucial knock as she aided India to beat Pakistan.

Indian bowlers first bowled out Pakistan for 99 and then reached the target of 102 runs by losing two wickets and 38 balls to spare.

Mandhana smashed eight boundaries and three sixes in her knock.

India returned to winning ways after being defeated in the first outing by Australia.

Pakistan were successful in taking the wickets of Shafali Verma (16) and Sabbhineni Meghana (14).

Omaima Sohail and Tuba Hassan picked up two wickets for Pakistan.

Muneeba Ali (32) earlier was the top scorer as Pakistan scored 99 runs.

Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav picked up two wickets in the match.
