Jammu and Kashmir's IPL surprise pick Vivrant Sharma sees Yuvraj Singh as his 'idol'

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir player Vivrant Sharma has emerged as one of the surprise picks by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recently held Indian Premier League auction.

Creating a surprise, SunRisers Hyderabad picked him up for a whopping Rs 2.6 crore after he registered at Rs 20 lakh as an uncapped Indian player.

Meanwhile, the young cricketer said former Indian star and World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh is his inspiration.

"From the start, I used to watch Yuvraj Singh and I grew up trying to copy him in the field. He clicked with me since he was an all-rounder and because his body language was very impressive. I have learned so much from just watching him," Sharma said in an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.

"I have interacted with Brian Lara a couple of times during my time as a net bowler at SunRisers Hyderabad. He has only seen me bowl. But once he heard that I was also a left-handed batter, he told me to keep working on it and I was very excited when I got to speak to him," Vivrant said.
