"Mohammedan Sporting Club won't be closed"

| | Oct 21, 2014, at 03:47 am
Kolkata, Oct 20 (IBNS) Mohammedan Sporting Club president Sultan Ahmed has rejected reports that the club will be shut down.

“Whatever you are seeing on television is wrong. It is totally rubbish,” Ahmed was quoted as saying to livemint.com.

He said due to lack sponsors the club will not be participating in the I-League second division this season (2014-15).

“We are building up our team for the 2015 season, where we will participate in the I-League second division and the Calcutta Football League (CFL).” he said.

Ahmed said: "We are looking for sponsors. The moment we do that, we’ll try and build up our team again. But what I can assure you is that we will play the next season of the I-League.”
