Our batting was horrendous: Clarke

Auckland, Feb 28 (IBNS) Australian captain Michael Clarke on Saturday said his side's batting performance against New Zealand was 'horrendous'.

"Very entertaining and we'd have liked it to go the other way. Our batting was horrendous to put it politely. Starc is a genius. I think both teams would say we didn't bat the way we'd have liked," Clarke said during a post match ceremony.

"Credit to New Zealand the way they bowled and executed their skills very well, we let ourselves down with the bat," he said.

New Zealand defeated Australia by one  wicket in a World Cup match as they topped the Pool A with 8 points after playing four matches.
