PM Modi wishes Saina Nehwal for winning World Badminton Championships silver

New Delhi, Aug 17 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday wished badminton player Saina Nehwal for winning silver medal in the World Badminton Championships.

"A Silver at the World Badminton Championships is a momentous feat. Congratulations to Ms. Saina Nehwal. Her accomplishments truly inspire," the Prime Minister said. 

Nehwal settled for silver after losing the final of the World Championship against Spain's Carolina Marin here on Sunday.

Marin defeated her Indian opponent  16-21, 19-21 to clinch the title.
