Pune FC-SGFI Nationals: Maharashtra U17 Girls thrash Gujarat

Pune, Apr 26 (IBNS): Hosts Maharashtra romped to a massive 9-0 win over Gujarat in their U17 girls section Group-D opener of the Pune FC sponsored 59th SGFI National Football Championship at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Saturday.

 The huge win was powered by hattricks from Komal Dhole who scored four (2nd, 8th, 30th & 45th minute) and Karen Paes (16th, 25th & 38th) apart from single strikes by Pooja (47th) and Zarastin Mistry (35th).

In the Under-19 girls section, defending champions Haryana logged a big 6-1 win over Kerala in a Group-A encounter at the Balewadi Stadium while Tamil Nadu logged a 5-0 win over Karnataka.

In the Under-19 boys, defending champions Punjab cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Andhra Pradesh in a Group-A encounter at the Pune FC Training Pitches in Mamurdi.
