Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma headline in India's 477 against England in Dharamsala

Dharamsala/IBNS: India slammed 477 in the first innings of the fifth and final Test against England in reply to the visitors' 218.

India's giant score was crafted by Shubman Gill and skipper Rohit Sharma, who slammed hundreds while fifties were hit by debutant Devdutt Padikkal, young batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan.

While Gill, who slammed 110, Rohit was dismissed at 103.

Padikkal hit 10 fours and 1 six in scoring 65 until he was bowled out by Shoaib Bashir.

Yashasvi and Sarfaraz slammed 57 and 56 respectively.

Lower order batters- Kuldeep Yadav (30) and Jasprit Bumrah (20)- made significant contributions to India's scorecard powering the hosts to earn a 259-run lead in the first innings.
