Virat Kohli scripts history during semi-final clash against New Zealand, hammers 50th ODI century

| @indiablooms | Nov 15, 2023, at 10:50 pm

Indian sporting icon Virat Kohli scored a heroic and memorable hundred to shatter cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar's record to reach the 50th ton of his 50-over career during the ongoing World Cup semi-final clash against New Zealand in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.

Sachin Tendulkar was present in the stadium at the historic moment.

Interestingly, Sachin and Virat were in the same squad that won the World Cup in 2011 in the same stadium.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma earlier won the toss and opted to bat first.

Virat was batting at 107 runs unbeaten when the report was filed.

India scored 314 runs for the loss of a wicket at the end of the 43rd over.

Virat is accompanied by Shreyas Iyer (74*) at the other end.
