Virat Kohli unfollows Sourav Ganguly on Instagram after 'no handshake' in IPL match

In a new tension between the two cricket greats, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has unfollowed Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly on Instagram after the two apparently skipped shaking hands after a match in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

After a powerful fifty by Kohli last Saturday, Delhi Capitals suffered the fifth consecutive defeat in the ongoing season of IPL last Saturday.

Post match, when players and support staff of both teams were shaking their hands with each other , Ganguly and Kohli were seen not following the practice.

The incident has triggered a fresh controversy rewinding the Ganguly-Kohli forgettable episode which broke out over India's captaincy issue.

After Kohli quit as T20 captain in late 2021, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) went on to replace him with Rohit Sharma as the skipper not only in the shortest but in all formats triggering a huge row.

Then Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly had claimed that he had personally requested Kohli to continue as the captain.

However in a press conference, Kohli contradicted Ganguly's statement saying he was informed about a change in ODI leadership one-and-a-half hours prior to the selection of the Test side.
