We will return: Kylian Mbappe tweets after Argentina beat France in World Cup final

Paris: French superstar Kylian Mbappe won hearts on Sunday night with his heroic performance against Argentina in the final but failed to clinch the World Cup title for the second consecutive time.

Argentina defeated the French team by 4-2 margin in penalty shootout to win the title after a gap of 42 years.

While Argentina kept the match in their favour till the 79th minute of the game when Mbappe scored twice to equalise the scorecard.

He added another goal in the Extra Time to keep the match tied at 3-3.

Mbappe's hat-trick returned France in the game and gifted one of the memorable final matches of the showpiece event.

Meanwhile, Mbappe, who won the Golden Boot for being the top-scorer of the event with eight goals, left people touched with his heartfelt tweet that read: "Nous reviendrons (We will return)."

He was one of the key stars who helped France lift the title in 2018.
