Quetta city in Pakistan witnessed the worst traffic jam on Friday after several tribesmen and family members of a kidnapped 11-year-old boy blocked the Zarghoon Road to protest against the incident.

The strike lasted for several hours.

The boy was abducted while he was travelling to his home from school.

The child is reportedly the son of a prominent tribal leader.

After the incident, a large number of people, including tribesmen and workers of political parties, gathered and blocked multiple points along Zarghoon Road, which led to widespread traffic disruption in various areas of Quetta, reported Dawn News.

The demonstrators also blocked the Quetta-Chaman Highway in the Yaro and Saranan areas.

The protest was called off later in the night.

The police assured all assistance to recover the boy.
