The All Minorities Association of Bangladesh recently demonstrated at the iconic Broken Chair monument located in front of the UN office in Geneva.

According to reports, protesters from different religious groups and Swiss nationals joined to protest at the venue and highlight the atrocities faced by Hindus in the South Asian country which has been witnessing political turmoil for the past several months.

The protesters voiced their concerns over the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das in Chittagong.

Priyajit Debsarkar, an independent political analyst from London, emphasised the gravity of the situation, and told ANI that the Hindu priest’s arrest is a “matter of grave concern.”

“Arrest of Prabhu Chinmoy Das is a matter of grave concern. Here in the United Nations, Geneva, the 17th Minority Rights Council, we have raised this on multiple platforms and we are appealing to the international community to seek his immediate release without any conditions or restrictions. The current situation in Bangladesh is extremely concerning and highly volatile when it comes to targeting minorities, be it places of worship or business, educational institutions in other aspects of ordinary life," he said.

The protesters were also heard raising 'Jai Shree Ram' slogan during their demonstration.

Meanwhile, another Hindu monk has been arrested in Bangladesh, days after Chinmoy Krishna Das was put behind bars.

The arrested Hindu monk was identified as Shyam Das Prabhu.

He was arrested without any official warrant, sources told Indian news channel NDTV.

Radharamn Das, Vice-President and Spokesperson, ISKCON Kolkata, shared an image of the arrested monk on is X handle and wrote: "Another Brahmachari Sri Shyam Das Prabhu was arrested by Chattogram Police today."
