10th day: Spectrum auction sees Rs.102,215 crore bids

New Delhi, Mar 14 (IBNS): At the end of the 10th day of spectrum auction, the Centre has received commitments of Rs.102,215 crore from telecom operators on Saturday, officials said.

Till now, 61 rounds of bidding has taken place.

"The bidding is taking place in all bands. Brisk bidding was seen on 10th day of bidding, with activity requirement set at 100%. There is robust bidding going on in 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz bands. At the end of 61st round, about 87% of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders. The provisional amount committed by bidders at the end of 61st round is Rs.102215 Crore," read a government statement.

"Majority of service areas are going at a premium over reserve price. The competitive bidding is expected to continue. There is still spectrum, which is yet to be sold. Bidding would recommence on Monday i.e. 16-03-2015 at 9AM," it said.
