Acme Fitness launches Octane 'Zero Runner' in India

New Delhi, July 15 (IBNS): ACME Fitness, a fitness systems maker, on Wednesday launched the Zero Runner – for zero impact running and one of a kind training solution , which has been creating rave reviews in USA.

The equipment is manufactured by Octane, the world leader in Elliptical equipment segment.

Delivering the powerful conditioning benefits of running without stressful pounding on the joints, the Zero Runner is the only machine that replicates real running motion without any impact to the body.

The non-motorized elliptical-looking equipment uses mechanical hip and knee joints that replicate human biomechanics in running, with independent pedals allowing runners to replicate their natural running gait, just like outside.

Users control their motion throughout their run, and the Zero Runner follows the runner’s movement through the initiate, pull-through, lift and extension phases.

The resulting mechanism mimics a runner’s natural gait without the foot touching the ground thereby creating no impact at all on the joints – like running in the air.

Reflecting on the launch,  Dan Codling, Sales Director, Asia Pacific, Octane Fitness, said, “India offers an exciting opportunity for us. With an emerging awareness about fitness in general and long distance running in particular made popular by marathons in the last few years, the market size for branded equipment is estimated at about USD 100 mn (Rs 620 crores). While most of the market is flooded by cheap Chinese equipment, we want to focus on world class quality, performance and after sales service of our products. The innovative Zero Runner backed by extensive R&D, is the perfect training solution for runners and offers multiple benefits apart from reiterating our position as the world’s leading zero impact cardio- vascular equipment makers. We are optimistic that Indian consumers will love the Zero Runner and we expect to garner about 1% of the market in the next 2 years.”

Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh.L.Raja, Founder & Managing Director of Acme Fitness, said, “ACME fitness has been at the forefront in bringing world class fitness equipment from the segment leaders into India. These equipment not only have increased longevity but also provide for best impact results while training. We have never compromised on making quality equipment available and the ‘Zero Runner’ is yet another example of our continuing commitment. We have been able to distinguish ourselves from the others by making sure that our post sales service is of the highest order to ensure that there is no downtime on any equipment purchased by our customers, where they may have to forego even a day’s work out. ”
