Kolkata, Dec 16 (IBNS): Alstom T&D India has secured an order worth around 151.5 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL) to supply a 400/220 kV substation in Bhadla, and expand the existing 400/220 kV substation in Bikaner, both situated in the state of Rajasthan.

The new 400 kV grid substation in Bhadla will help evacuate power from the Bhadla solar park and other upcoming solar parks in the area, while the expansion of the 400/220 kV substation at Bikaner will facilitate the exchange of solar power generation with the national grid.

Alstom T&D India will design, engineer, manufacture, install and commission the Bhadla 400/220 kV substation, including twenty 400 kV bays and seventeen 220kV bays. The Bikaner expansion project includes the supply of eight 400 kV bays, transformers, circuit breakers, control and protection relays and substation automation system. All equipment will be manufactured and supplied from Alstom T&D India’s manufacturing.

"Alstom is pleased to offer its leading and advanced solutions to strengthen the Rajasthan transmission network and ensure efficient, reliable and safe evacuation of clean power. We have delivered successful projects for RRVPNL in the past and we aim to continue," he added

He also said, "These projects are part of the state government’s initiative to upgrade and scale the state’s transmission infrastructure for the transmission of clean energy to the national grid. Rajasthan is amongst the few states chosen by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)as models for the proposed mega solar parks, whose installed solar power capacity will be scaled to 100,000 MW by 2022."
