New Delhi: Ambuja Cements, a part of the Adani Group, on Wednesday announced its intention to invest Rs 1,000 crore in setting up a cement grinding unit in the Godda district of Jharkhand.

The proposed unit, with a capacity of 4 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA), will be set up following mandatory approvals, said Ambuja Cements Ltd (ACL) in a statement.

This project is "planned in the close proximity to Adani Power (Jharkhand) Ltd, as part of a comprehensive approach to disposing of fly ash in an environmentally safe manner and contributing to the circular economy," it said.

It further added that the unit is expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for over 2,500 individuals.
