Fuel prices rise: Premium petrol, diesel hiked amid oil price surge

New Delhi/IBNS: Indian Oil Corporation has increased the prices of premium petrol and diesel in the national capital amid a global oil price surge triggered by the ongoing West Asia conflict, media reports said.

XP100 petrol has been hiked to Rs 160 per litre from Rs 149 earlier, while Xtra Green premium diesel now costs Rs 92.99 per litre, up from Rs 91.49 per litre in Delhi.

Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices were also sharply increased earlier before being partially rolled back for domestic airlines.

Meanwhile, prices of commercial LPG cylinders were raised by nearly Rs 200 on Wednesday, crossing the Rs 2,000 mark in line with rising global crude prices.

The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 195.50 to Rs 2,078.50 in New Delhi. The last revision was carried out on March 1.

However, domestic LPG cylinder prices, which were earlier increased by Rs 60, remain unchanged.

The surge in fuel prices comes amid escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which have pushed global oil prices higher and raised concerns over inflationary pressures.
