Fuel prices: Rising trend continues
New Delhi, Jun 29 (UNI) Fuel prices kept on rising and for the third consecutive day has registered an increase on Saturday.
Petrol prices were increased by 11-12 paise per litre while diesel rates rose by 10-11 p/l.
In Delhi, petrol was retailing at Rs 70.28 per litre, an 11 paise increase from Friday. Diesel stood at Rs 64.11 per litre, a 10 paise increase.
In Mumbai, while petrol was valued at Rs 75.97 per litre, a 10 paise increase from yesterday's rate. Diesel price stood at Rs 67.22 a litre, an 11 paise increase.
According to the Indian Oil Corporation, petrol was retailing at Rs 72.54 per litre in Kolkata, an 11 paise increase from yesterday while diesel costs Rs 66.03 a litre, a 10 paise rise.
Petrol in Chennai retailed at Rs 73.01 per litre while diesel costs Rs 67.81 a litre.
In Noida, petrol was available at a price of Rs 70.21 per litre and diesel stood at Rs 63.56 a litre.
While petrol in Gurugram was priced at Rs 70.74 a litre, diesel was being sold at Rs 63.65 p/l.
As per the country's dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.
The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier, they used to be revised every fortnight.
