New Delhi/UNI: Electronics major -- Godrej Appliances -- on Thursday unveiled India's first air cooler that is equipped with inverter technology.

The coolers are available in the price range between INR 12,300-19,900 and is also available on interest free EMI. As of now the cooler comes in two sizes one of 60 litres and another 80 litres and a total of 17 models-mechanical, manual, invertor, non invertor etc are available.

''This is the first cooler in India which is equipped with Inverter technology, inverters are energy efficient compressors, the ones used by AC’s. This is the reason ‘campaign is called chill bhi zyada, bill bhi aadha", Company's National Sales Head Sanjay Jain, told UNI during the launch.

"The cooler is perfect for Indian conditions as it’s Star delta design circuit ensures that the motor does not get burnt due to voltage fluctuations. Besides the cooler can run even on the household inverter power backup", Mr Jain said.

The coolers will be laden with honeycomb pads in place of dried grass. Honey combed pads have a higher ability for soaking in water and hence give cooling for a longer duration. The cooler is designed for a 120 degree wide angle wind throw which means that one does not need to sit directly in front of it in order to enjoy cooling.

The cooler's quick chill technology ensures fast cooling in the first hour if the turbo mode is on, from the start itself cool air is emitted as the auto soak feature keeps the pads wet before the fans are switched on.

The cooler has been built keeping in mind the health risks posed by mosquitoes as the grills are air tight minimizing the possibility of mosquitoes entering and breeding also the tank has an anti bacterial coating on it.

The company offers one year comprehensive warranty and additionally, one year on inverter fan motor, guaranteeing peace of mind for the user.
