Ajmer, Jan 4 (IBNS): The ICICI Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ajmer Nagar Nigam to help the latter collect tax online from the residents of Ajmer.
Using this service, any tax payer of the city, including non-customers of ICICI Bank, can conveniently pay municipal tax and lease amount for homes and shops on the website of Ajmer Nagar Nigam at a click of a button anytime, anywhere.

The payments can be made using multiple channels including debit or credit card and net banking. Additionally, they can also make payments by swiping a card at a POS machine installed by the bank at the Ajmer Nagar Nigam campus.

Tax payers do not have to bear any additional cost for availing this service.

Speaking about the initiative, Haulianlal Guite, IAS & Commissioner, Ajmer Nagar Nigam, said, “We are the first in itself introducing this kind of a facility for its tax payers. This is for the benefit of the citizens of Ajmer who can now pay their taxes sitting at home. They need not come to the corporation office to pay their taxes and avoid waiting in long queues. Also, tax payers need not carry cash if they come to pay taxes to the corporation office as they can do so through their debit/credit card using the POS machine installed at the Nagar Nigam premises.”

Kumar Ashish, Retail Business Head, ICICI Bank said, “We are delighted to associate with Ajmer Nagar Nigam to extend our digital banking solutions to all residents of Ajmer. The new service will enable them to pay municipal tax as well as lease amount for home and shops online at the click of a button. This service is in line with our endeavour to offer products and services to ensure a smoother banking experience to the users.”

ICICI Bank has over 400 branches and more than 600 ATMs across Rajasthan along with two fully automated ‘Touch Banking’ branches which are available 24x7 on all days in Jaipur.
