ICICI Bank organises 1269 coin exchange melas across India

Mumbai, Oct 17 (IBNS): ICICI Bank Ltd, a private sector bank, organised 1269 coin exchange melas across the country last week.

These melas were organised at the bank’s branches at major metro cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai as well as non-metros like Agra, Bhopal, Patna and Madurai among many others.

Senior dignitaries from the Reserve Bank of India inaugurated these melas at various locations.

ICICI Bank periodically organises coin exchange melas to offer a free facility of exchanging acceptable soiled and mutilated currency notes with fresh currency and coins to the general public.

These are much-awaited events that receive an overwhelming response from people from all walks of life. Anyone can avail of this facility free of cost.

The coin melas held across the country saw participation of around 30,000 people, where they exchanged coins worth Rs. 7 crore in the denomination of Rs.10, Rs.5, Rs.2 and Re.1 as well as fresh currencies amounting to Rs. 24 crore in the denomination of Rs. 100, Rs. 50, Rs. 20 and Rs. 10.

ICICI Bank has 4451 branches and 14073 ATMs spread across the country at June 30, 2016.
