IMF Chief Lagarde picks up European nominations
Lagarde's current term ends on July 5.
U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne tweeted: Delighted to nominate @Lagarde for new term as head of IMF. An outstanding leader with vision & acumen to steer global economy in years ahead.
At the fund’s annual meeting in Lima in Oct 2015, Lagarde said she’d be open to serving another term.
Most analysts believe the legal charges related to her actions taken when Lagarde was the French finance minister, are not likely to affect her reappointment though some repercussion cannot be ruled out.
