Indian benchmark indices close flat on Tuesday

Mumbai, Sep 19 (IBNS): The Indian market closed flat on Tuesday with BSE Sensex down 21.39 points at 32,402.37 and NSE Nifty down 5.55 points at 10,147.55.

Investors chose to remai cautious ahead of two-day US Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting that will start later on Tuesday, media reported.

Top gainers included on Tuesday included Tata Motors, Tata Motors (D), GAIL, Kotak Mahindra,  Bhatri Infratel, BPCL, BHEL and Cipla while Coal India, HDFC, L&T, SBI, Aurobindo Pharma, HIndalco, Eicher Motors, HDFC and Sun Pharma declined.
