Indian benchmark indices close higher on Friday

Mumbai, Jan 19 (IBNS): The Indian market closed high on Friday, with BSE Sensexwas up 251.29 points at 35,511.58 and NSE Nifty up 77.70 points at 10,894.70.

Key private sector lender HDFC Bank reported that its Net interest income during December 2017 quarter increased 24.1 percent to Rs 10,314.3 crore compared to Rs 8,309.09 crore in corresponding period, with strong loan growth of 27.5 per cent.

Top gainers on Friday included Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, TCS and SBI while Ambuja Cements, UltraTech Cement, Infosys, Sun Pharma, ONGC, NTPC and Maruti Suzuki.
