Indian market closes lower on Tuesday

Mumbai, Jul 4 (IBNS): The Indian equity market closed lower on Tuesday even though NSE Nifty was able to stay above the psychological 9600 mark, according to media reports.

The BSE Sensex was down 11.83 points at 31209.79 while NSE Nifty was down 1.70 points at 9613.30.

Some of the key stocks that gained were Reliance, HDFC, BPCL, Infosys, Adani Ports, Kotak Mahindra and NTPC while Axis Bank, Idea Cellular, Hero Motocorp, Dr Reddys Labs, ITC, Bank of Baroda and Cipla declined.
