Indian Market: Sensex crashed over 1100 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday dropped 1163.47 pts to 48,427.85 in opening session as heavy selling was seen in Finance, Auto, Bankex and Utilities stocks.

The Nifty too slipped by 351.15 pts to 14,889.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 48,956.65 and 48,112.17 9 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 14,652.50 and 14,384.40 respectively.

The Mid Cap was down by 3.28 pc and Small Cap by 2.69 pc.

In 30 scrips 2 advanced while 28 declined.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 6.83 pc to Rs 860.80, Bajaj finance by 5.38 pc to Rs 4611.10, SBI by 5.38 pc to Rs 334.05, Kotak Bank by 3.90 pc to Rs 1729.05 and Bajaj Finserv by 3.87 pc to Rs 9257.

The gainers were Dr Reddy by 1.59 pc to Rs 4835.40, Sun Pharma by 1.05 pc to Rs 643.65 and Infosys by 0.58 pc to Rs 1449.15.
