Indian Market: Sensex down 600 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday tanked 680 pts at 54,155.33 in opening session as selling was seen across the board amid weak global cues.

The Nifty declined 211.40 pts at 16,199.85. 

The sensex registered days high and low at 54,324.52 and 54,122.09 pts respectively. 

The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,270 and 16,197.85 pts respectively. 

The Mid cap fell 1.01 pc and Small Cap by 1.02 pc. In 30 scrips, 2 advanced while 28 declined. 

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 4.63 pc to Rs 1231.75, Axis Bank by 2.09 pc to Rs 659.15, Tata Steel by 1.72 pc to Rs 5901 and Maruti Suzuki by 1.36 pc to Rs 7178.25. 

The sole gainer was Powergrid by 1.22 pc to Rs 241.15.
