Indian Market: Sensex down over 300 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday tumbled down 319.25 points to 55,446.97 as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty too fell 92.70 points to 16,538.30.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 55,834.38 and 55,446.80 points respectively.

The Nifty registered the days high and low at 16,636.10 and 16,529.45 points respectively.

The Mid Cap declined 0.32 per cent and Small Cap by 0.39 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 7 advanced while 23 declined.

The losers were Dr Reddy's Lab by 2.79 per cent to Rs 4211.20, Nestle India Ltd by 1.86 per cent to Rs 18,405, Infosys by 1.76 per cent to Rs 1476.40 and Asian Paints by 1.66 per cent to Rs 3054.20.

The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 2.37 per cent to Rs 12,910, Bajaj Finance by 0.54 per cent to Rs 6262, Tata Steel by 0.53 per cent to Rs 966 and Reliance Industries by 0.37 per cent to Rs 2429.10.
