Indian Market: Sensex moves up by 77 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained by 77 pts to 40,670.91 as buying was seen in Materials, Health Care, Industrials and IT stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too advanced by 26.25 pts to 11,957.20.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 40,692.23 and 40,468.24 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,958.85 and 11,888.90 respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.04 pc while Small Cap was up by 0.17 pc.

In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while 9 declined.

Today, there was the Supreme Court's hearing on a batch of petitions seeking a waiver of interest on loans during the moratorium period.

The gainers were Ultracemco by 3.15 pc to Rs 4440, Bharti Airtel by 1.70 pc to Rs 422.30, Titan by 1.50 pc to Rs 1275.90 and Adian Paints by 1.25 pc to Rs 2106.75.

The losers were ICICI Bank by 1.97 pc to Rs 395.90, SBI by 1.08 pc to Rs 196.50, IndusInd Bank by 1.07 pc to Rs 607.35 and Axis Bank by 0.75 pc to Rs 464.45.
