Indian Market: Sensex rises 96 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday gained 96 points to open at 59,938.01 as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty too rose 47.55 points at 17,872.80.

The sensitive index registered days high and low at 59,972.11 and 59,857.80 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,877 and 17,833.35 points respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.41 per cent and Small Cap by 0.50 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 24 advanced while six declined.

The gainers were NTPC by 1.74 per cent to Rs 161.25; IndusInd Bank by 0.77 per cent to Rs 1,092.65; Bajaj Finserv by 0.70 per cent to Rs 16,025 and Ultracemco by 0.68 per cent to Rs 7,336.65.

The losers were TCS by 0.53 per cent to Rs 3,375; Tech Mahindra by 0.49 per cent to Rs 1,072.69 and Infosys by 0.42 per cent to Rs 1,589.15.
