Indian Market: Sensex slumps 151 pts

Mumbai/UNI:  The BSE Sensex on Monday slipped by 151 pts at 38,205 on weak global cues amid selling in Materials, Consumer Durable, IT and Technology stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too declined by 32 pts to 11,301.85.

The sectoral indices include Materials, Consumer Durable and IT stocks dragged the market further in early trade.

The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 38,454.58 and 38,060.74 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday high and low at 11,373.30 and 11,290.95 respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.50 pc and Small Cap by 0.41 pc.

In 30 scrips, 23 declined while 7 advanced.

The losers were M& M by 2.20 pc to Rs 618.50, Kotak Bank by 1.33 pc to Rs 1360.25, HDFC Bank by 1.15 pc to Rs 1106.90 and IndusInd Bank by 1.09 pc to Rs 609.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 0.84 pc to Rs 424.85, Maruti Suzuki by 0.90 pc to Rs 7256.55, Axis Bank by 0.74 pc to Rs 458.60, TCS by 0.34 pc to Rs 2297.60 and Asian Paints by 0.20 pc to Rs 1960.
