Jammu and Kashmir: Beekeepers from remote Rajouri village seek govt help to market honey

| @indiablooms | Jun 08, 2021, at 09:32 pm

Rajouri: Villagers in a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, who had taken up beekeeping several years ago to supplement their income from farming, are now seeking government help to market their produce, media reports said on Tuesday.

Farmers of the Dandesar village in Rajouri are hoping to get government assistance.

Arshad Mehmood, who is the sarpanch of the village, told ANI that villagers have been facing difficulties in selling honey.

"The villagers have been demanding an increase in markets for selling honey. They work very hard round the year. Some people even produce large quantities of honey but have no place to sell it. Many villagers of Dandesar are poor," Mehmood told ANI.
