Larsen & Toubro's (L&T) Metals & Minerals (M&M) business vertical has secured multiple orders from leading domestic metals and mining companies, further strengthening its position as a leading provider of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solutions across the metals and minerals value chain.

The first order comes from a public sector enterprise and India's largest iron ore producer. As part of its expansion programme to achieve an iron ore production capacity of 100 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2030, the company has awarded L&T Package BE-01C for an 18 MTPA Iron Ore Handling Plant in Chhattisgarh.

The scope of work includes the design and engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of a downhill conveyor system, screening plant, stockpile, yard equipment, a Rapid Wagon Loading System (RWLS) and associated auxiliary facilities.

L&T has also secured another order from a Navratna public sector enterprise undertaking the expansion of its steel plant in West Bengal from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA. Under the contract, L&T will execute multiple Design & Build and Balance of Plant (BoP) packages.

In addition, the company has strengthened its long-standing partnership with a leading private-sector metals producer by winning an EPC contract for a zinc processing plant.

The project scope includes design and engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and associated site services, reinforcing L&T's expertise in executing complex non-ferrous metallurgical projects.

Commenting on the order wins, S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, said: "These wins reaffirm L&T's enduring leadership in the minerals and metals EPC sector and reflect the deep trust our customers place in our ability to deliver projects of exceptional scale and complexity. As India accelerates investments to expand its metals and minerals capacity in support of long-term economic growth, L&T remains committed to partnering with the country's leading enterprises in developing world-class industrial infrastructure."

T. Kumaresan, Senior Vice President and Head – Utilities & Metals, L&T, said: "These orders across the mining, ferrous and non-ferrous sectors reaffirm our customers' confidence in L&T's engineering expertise and project execution capabilities. They further strengthen our position as a trusted partner in developing India's metals and minerals infrastructure. We remain committed to delivering these projects with the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability."
