Indian-origin executive Kevan Parekh has assumed charge as the new chief financial officer of Apple Inc from January 1, 2025.

He is yet another Indian-origin executive who took charge of a top American technology firm after Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai who have been leading US giants Microsoft and Google for several years now.

Parekh earlier served as Apple's Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis.

His appointment to the new position was announced last year.

How much will Parekh earn?

If a report published on Mint is believed then Parekh will earn $1 million (approximately ₹8.57 crore) annually.

Speaking on Parekh's appointment, Apple CEO Tim Cook earlier said: " For more than a decade, Kevan has been an indispensable member of Apple’s finance leadership team, and he understands the company inside and out."

"His sharp intellect, wise judgment, and financial brilliance make him the perfect choice to be Apple’s next CFO," he said.

Before joining Apple, Parekh held various senior leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and General Motors, where he also had extensive global experience.

Parekh is an electrical engineer with a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
