Mercedes-Benz launches first Fast Lane Repair prog in India

Ahmedabad/UNI: India's largest luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz on Thursday launched a one-of-it's-kind innovative service programme 'Fast Lane Body and Paint Repair,' a first in the country, here.

Vice-President (Customer Services and Corporate Affairs), Mercedes-Benz India Shekhar Bhide and Group Chairman of it's authorised dealer firm Sanjay Thakker, said on the occasion that the service programme has been launched, to minimise the repair duration after minor accidents.

According to Mr Bhide, earlier, it used to take around seven days for this type of repair, but with this programme, the time would be reduced to half. The programme was started from Ahmedabad and would soon be launched in Mumbai and Pune and rolled out across seven more cities this year, he added.

Mr Thakkar said that this customer-centric service initiative was aimed at enhancing the overall ownership experience.

The customers would get specified accident repair jobs done within three days. This is achieved through ther use of efficient processes, minimising down times and using faster drying components, with zero compromise on the quality of repairs, he added.

This would, in turn, allow the cars to get back on road quickly, improving mobility and reducing hassle caused to the customers. Additionally, the customers can avail the service for insurance repair jobs, said Mr Bhide.

He further said that as the leaders in luxury car segment, it was incumbent upon them to expand the market. ''Customer services is a key element in our growth strategy in India. The turnaround time, especially during an accident, could one of the most exhausting and stressful experiences. With quick and efficient service, we want to support the customers,'' he added.
