Myntra sharpens festive play with faster deliveries, deeper stock in Kolkata

Kolkata: Fashion e-commerce platform Myntra said Tuesday that it is sharpening its festive season play in Kolkata with faster deliveries, a wider product selection and a stronger focus on regional fashion demand.

The company said customers in Kolkata can now access over 2.5 lakh styles across categories, delivered within 24–48 hours.

Backed by a dedicated 2.5 lakh sq. ft. warehouse in the city, Myntra is looking to position its supply chain to serve demand from East and North East India during the upcoming Durga Pujo season.

“As customers from Kolkata are gearing up for Pujo, various fashion-led value deals on Myntra are building on the excitement for fashion shopping. We are expecting a demand from the region during this festive season and to meet this growing demand from the region promptly, we have accelerated our delivery speed. 50% of our orders are expected to get delivered within 24-48 hours,” said Suman Saha, CXO, Head of House of Brands, Myntra.

“We are leveraging technology to help our customers discover their favourite brands and styles on the homepage that are tailored to display regionally relevant products,” he added.

Value, premium mix and shopping trends

Myntra offers more than 4 million styles from over 10,000 brands, with ~15 million users in Kolkata alone. For value shoppers, about 5 lakh new styles have been added this season, spanning men’s, women’s and kids’ categories.

The city has shown strong preference for women’s ethnic wear, followed by men’s wear and women’s western wear.

In 2025, customers from Kolkata collectively purchased 3.3 lakh kurtas, 1.77 lakh shoes in a single month, and 1.35 lakh lipsticks, signalling consistent demand for fashion and beauty products. Shirt sales peaked at 7 lakh units in June, influenced by cultural events like Jamai Shashti.

Popular brands in the region include Libas, Roadster, Highlander, Anouk, U.S. Polo Assn., H&M, Mango, adidas and Nike.

Local ecosystem and employment

Myntra’s Serampore warehouse has generated over 760 new jobs ahead of the festive season. Around 650 delivery partners are active in Kolkata, with 100 more to be added.

The company is also enabling local artisans and homegrown brands through its Rising Stars Program, with selections reflecting regional crafts like Jamdani, Taant and Kantha.

Senco Gold Group’s new accessories label SENNES also debuted on Myntra Luxe, offering 130 styles of wallets, purses, backpacks and perfumes.

Positioning in East India

Kolkata and adjoining districts — North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas and Howrah — are among Myntra’s most engaged markets in West Bengal, with festive shopping demand rivaling metros.

The company’s focus on quick deliveries through M-Express and plans to extend hyper-speed service M-Now underline its push to consolidate leadership in the East.

During last year’s Pujo, Myntra recorded spikes in kurta sets, jeans and footwear, particularly in men’s fashion. It expects similar trends this season, supported by faster logistics and curated offerings.
